A growing number of companies are using coworking spaces as a way to increase the efficiency of their business. As a startup seeking international growth, Myinfomonitor wanted its office space to provide full support for its growth strategy. The choice was MOW.

The move to Sponda’s MOW coworking space was not a decision made lightly by the Tampere-based Myinfomonitor.

The company, which offers a new software solution for visualising data in the form of dashboards and works together with a large network of partners, conducted a detailed analysis of what type of office space would best support the execution of its growth strategy.

In regards to increasing the efficiency of work, a central location and effective auxiliary services emerged as key considerations.

“We had wasted space in our old office and the premises did not create opportunities for spontaneous contact with other people and businesses. We wanted to have office space that would provide a sense of community while also giving us the chance to focus fully on our work,” says Anton Eriksson, CEO of Myinfomonitor.

A central location and an optimal working environment

In regards to increasing the efficiency of work, a central location and effective auxiliary services emerged as key considerations for Myinfomonitor. The startup also wanted its new working environment to be flexible and offer diverse workspaces.

Myinfomonitor rented two rooms from MOW along with scalable space in the hot desk area. There is always a space of suitable size for each meeting.

“MOW Supernova met all of these criteria. The visually impressive space and service-oriented staff were also important factors in our decision. We are happy to bring customers and business partners here. Everything just works and there’s an optimal environment available for all kinds of purposes,” Eriksson explains.

One of the first things Myinfomonitor did was find out who the owner behind MOW is.

One of the first things Myinfomonitor did was find out who the owner behind MOW is. Getting involved in a pilot project of questionable reliability was not something the company wanted to do.

Sponda is a big and responsible player in its industry, so we can feel assured that they take a professional and long-term approach to the MOW concept,” Eriksson adds.

Visibility for your own brand, backed by MOW’s muscle

Myinfomonitor’s flagship product is a cloud-based visualisation tool. The tool selects meaningful data from information systems and helps turn it into lively and real-time infographics. Katja Silvan, Jussi-Pekka Parikka ja Anton Eriksson are testing VR glasses.

“It will be easy for us to expand our premises as we grow. It is also important for us to have our brand clearly visible. The space and service offering at MOW allows us to act bigger than our size and it is also easy for us to arrange meetings in Helsinki when necessary,” Eriksson says.

The company is pursuing international growth and its early customers include Metso, Orion, Valmet and If.

The Myinfomonitor gang has not yet had the chance to participate in all of the events organised at MOW, but Eriksson believes the community dimension will present many opportunities to the company.

The official opening of MOW Supernova was celebrated soon after Myinfomonitor moved in. The Myinfomonitor team was impressed by MOW’s atmosphere of warmth and openness and the broad partner network.

“Even at the opening party, the positive and open MOW spirit was very evident. This place makes it easy to keep in touch with other companies and seek synergies when necessary. The sense of community crosses industry boundaries and it is something we may be able to leverage in areas such as product and service development,” Eriksson explains.

As examples of MOW’s other benefits, Eriksson mentions good IT support, a well-equipped kitchen and the adjacent shopping centre, with indoor access to a car park, shops and lunch restaurants.

The MOW concept is attracting an increasing number of growth-seeking and business-oriented enterprises. The community-driven atmosphere makes it easy to pursue synergies when necessary.

A growing number of companies looking for excellent results

According to Katta Heikkilä, Head of Hub & Community at MOW Supernova, Sponda’s coworking spaces have clearly become increasingly popular among growth-seeking and business-oriented enterprises.

“Startups and other companies seeking rapid growth prefer having an external partner take care of the facilities and the working environment so they can put their full focus on their work. They also want an inspiring space and a sense of community to provide a counterbalance to the hard work they do,” Heikkilä explains.

Efficient stand-up meetings are part of Myinfomonitor’s company culture. When the work is done on computers and production takes place in the cloud, the working environment stays nice and tidy.

At MOW, building a strong community is a goal that is pursued through concrete action and not just talked about. The member companies’ interest is always the first priority.

"The day-to-day life and special events at MOW provide the companies with rich content for their communication channels."

“Supernova hosts many kinds of events and our members can request which performers should be featured, or they can bring their partners and customers to the events. The day-to-day life and special events at MOW provide the companies with rich and inspiring content for their communication channels, which helps them build their employer brand,” Heikkilä points out.

The best way to get familiar with Supernova's premises is to get a MOW day pass. A pass includes the right to work in open spaces in MOW. Coffee, soft drinks and popcorn are also included in the price.

Heikkilä says many companies are surprised by the wide-ranging impacts MOW membership has on their business operations and corporate culture. He urges companies to be open-minded about giving MOW’s services and atmosphere a try.

“Every company uses our service offering in their own way. This is a place you have to experience for yourself. You can buy a day pass and spend a day working in this space, or you can just come for a visit to have a cup of coffee and take a look around,” Heikkilä concludes.
