This restaurant with a stylish black interior, which has been a tenant of Sponda throughout its ten-year history, has maintained its individual and atmospheric style to this day.
Ristorante Gastone on Korkeavuorenkatu has given patrons the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Italian atmosphere for nearly a decade.
“We still favour Italian wines and we are the same restaurant as we always have been. Our intention is to make this a timeless space,” says restaurateur Lennart Sukapää.
“We still offer the same classic dishes, such as grilled liver, but we are also launching a second menu. The classic dishes are best enjoyed when accompanied by a matching beverage, such as Birra Gastone, the restaurant’s eponymous beer, an unfiltered pilsner produced by a microbrewery in Rome”.
Unlike its Italian cousins, Gastone does not take a siesta. The restaurant is open all day, allowing customers to enjoy its Southern European atmosphere and flavours at lunch and in the evenings.
“People are welcome to come here even to just have a single dish, or a glass of wine. Our specialty is excellent wines that are only available at Gastone but still reasonably priced,” Sukapää explains.
In addition to dinner, Gastone’s daily rotating lunch menu draws epicureans to take a seat on the restaurant’s small but pleasant terrace. The menu is updated seasonally.
